For March E17 Rum Club is heading to Barbados to take in some of the glorious spirits of Cockspur Rum. Since it was founded in 1884, Cockspur has been producing world-class rums in the classic Bajan style – golden, stunning sipping rums which also go great in cocktails, sourced exclusively from Barbados distillates. This evening will be hosted by the man who can fairly claim to know more than anyone about these delicious rums – Steve Wilson, CEO of the Cockspur Rum company.
As always, entry price includes all your samples as well as a specially created welcome cocktail and home-cooked food throughout the evening. It’s ticket-only and if the last few events are anything to go by this will sell out fast, so early booking is advised – you can do that right here
We’re kicking off 2020 with one for the real connoisseurs – a trip around the lesser-known rums of Jamaica under the expert tutelage of Roger Barnes.
With a history of sugar production and distilling stretching back centuries, Jamaica is one of the places which immediately spring to mind when you first think about rum. The famous houses of Appleton Estate and Wray & Nephew might be found in most bars but this night is going to be all about the undiscovered and the rare treats – Hampden Estate, Monymusk Estate and Worthy Park Estate.
Roger will be guiding us around these through the evening and ticket price includes all your samples as well as, as usual, a specially created welcome cocktail and home-cooked food throughout the evening. It’s ticket-only and if the last few events are anything to go by this will sell out fast, so early booking is advised you can do so by clicking here.
Rum Club is back in Walthamstow on December 9th and oh my days do we have a festive treat for you! We’re going strictly Bajan with a selection of stunning Doorly’s and Foursquare rums for you to sample, presented by Peter Holland – writer, presenter, educator and font of all rum knowledge!
Produced in the same family owned and run distillery in the heart of Barbados’ sugarcane country, these rums all come from one style of fermentation but use a blend of pot and column still distillation and a stunning range of cask aging styles. This produces some truly spectacular rums, all of which reflect the trademark lighter, more subtle and usually golden Bajan style and never have anything added – this is pure, unadulterated, noble rum and we can’t wait to share it with you.
If you join us you will be able to enjoy a specially created welcome cocktail, all your rum samples and a range of home-cooked delicious nibbles throughout the evening, as well as some cracking original Rum Club merchandise available to purchase. Tickets are £20.00 and places are strictly limited so early booking is advised – you can get your ticket here: http://bit.ly/E17RumClubDecember

When it comes to doing things properly in the rum world, look no further than Pusser’s – these guys make the original Navy rum to the same exacting standards it was created with by the British Admiralty in 1810!
Things have moved on in the world since then and Pusser’s has been available to the general public since 1980 but it’s still made with 100% West Indian rums, blended and barrel-aged so it comes out smooth but still at with that good Navy kick…! It’s all natural too, no artificial colours or flavours and nothing to get in the way of the tastiness.
If you’ve joined us before, you know the drill – along with a specially created welcome cocktail and rum samples we’ll have delicious nibbles and all the expert rum chat you can handle. Tickets are £18 and places are strictly limited so early booking is advised.

Rhythm Kitchen: A New Kind of Happy Hour
Not all happy hours are created equal. Putting ours together, we only wanted one thing: to make it as happy as possible. So, two for one on cocktails at the best rum bar in East London? That’s quite a lot of happy right there…
So 6-8pm we’re doing just that and running Sunday-Thursday, we can double up on flavor for you in the evening. The weekdays can be tough so you need to unwind. Sure, you can pour a drink and kick your feet up in front of the television, but you do things for yourself all day, let us take care of this one.
Got a cocktail for every mood too – if the weather’s getting you down, order a Mango Daiquiri to take you to sunnier places. If your coworkers are driving you crazy, sweeten your day with a Bahama Mama. And if you’re sick of dealing with a nightmare boss, well, you just might need a Painkiller, a blend of Pusser’s Rum, cream of coconut, pineapple and orange juice and nutmeg – served on the rocks.
Looking at the end of the week (Thursday has been the new Friday for a while, right?) it’s impossible to have a bad night when it starts with a Rhythm Kitchen Rum Runner, and for an evening unlike any other, try out our Jamaican The Italian Krazy cocktail, which mixes Disaronno with lime, mint, mango and lemon juice. Join us all weekend from 6 – 8 p.m. for a fun evening with friends or a date night to remember.
We have the happiest happy hour in East London, and it runs seven days a week. If the buy-one-get-one cocktails leave you feeling hungry, use it as an opportunity to try our famous jerk chicken. But if you want to stick with the rum, we won’t hold it against you.
